In line with past collaborations, Mojang Studios announced a partnership with Nickelodeon and Spark Universe to bring a new SpongeBob SquarePants DLC to Minecraft.
The SpongeBob SquarePants DLC was launched on July 26th, 2022. The DLC gives players access to a replica of Bikini Bottom to participate in various activities using 40 new skins that accompanied the launch.
You can explore Minecraft’s Bikini Bottom to visit iconic locations from the Nickelodeon show like the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob’s Pineapple House, drive around in motorized boats from Mrs. Puff’s Boating school, explore the Jellyfish Fields, and even visit Sandy.
Your exploration will not go unrewarded. Minecraft announced that collectibles are available all over the map that will aid you in helping SpongeBob make it a great day for everyone in Bikini Bottom.
You can expect to see the regular cast of the SpongeBob franchise in the DLC. You will partner with Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Gary for various DLC activities and battles with Plankton.
You will also partner with SpongeBob to defend the Krusty Krab from a hoard of Krabby Patty-craving anchovies, display your building prowess alongside Patrick, help Sandy build a rocket, and more.
Minecraft announced a SpongeBob-inspired build challenge in a blog post released on June 30th, 2022, which tasked Minecraft fans with crafting SpongeBob SquarePants-themed builds.
Fans were told to tag their original works with the #FeatureMeMinecraft hashtag on Twitter before the July 14th, 2022 deadline. According to Minecraft’s SpongeBob DLC launch announcement, the winners will soon be announced, and their builds will be featured on Minecraft.net.
