Tim Roth’s son, Cormac Roth, dies at 25

Cormac Roth, one of the sons of Marvel actor Tim Roth, has passed away. He was 25.

Tim Roth’s son, Cormac Roth, died on October 16th after a battle with cancer. His family announced his passing in a statement on Monday, October 31st.

“He was a wild and electric ball of energy and his spirit was filled with light and goodness,” the family said of Cormac. “As wild as he was, Cormac was also the embodiment of kindness. A gentle soul who brought so much happiness and hope to those around him. The grief comes in waves, as do the tears and laughter, when we think of that beautiful boy across the 25 years and 10 months that we knew him. An irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful child. Only recently a man. We love him. We will carry him with us wherever we go.”

Who is Cormac Roth?

An alumnus of Bennington College, Cormac Roth was a talented guitarist, composer, and producer. In November 2021, he took to Instagram to announce that he had been diagnosed with Stage 3 germ cell cancer.

“In November of 21, I was diagnosed with stage 3 germ cell cancer,” wrote Cormac, along with a video of him playing an electric guitar. “Since then I’ve been fighting it daily, throwing everything I can at it. Chemo, high dose chemo, medication, transplants, transfusions, surgeries etc. It is called Choriocarcinoma, it is rare, and it has managed to stay many steps ahead of me no matter what I throw at it.”

Cormac added: “It has taken away half of my hearing, 60 pounds of weight, my confidence, and will continue its murderous path until I can manage to stop it somehow, and kill it. But it hasn’t taken away my will to survive, or my love of making music. It hasn’t taken me down yet. If you or someone you love is effected [sic] by cancer, please feel free to reach out for it is an emotional rollercoaster unlike anything else.

He ended his post with a shoutout to his followers, reminding them to enjoy life by doing what they like most. “Love to you all,” he wrote. “Please make sure to do the things that you love. Life is short. It is chaos. And you never know when it’s going to be you. Be well and go to the doctor. Fuck cancer.”

Cormac is survived by his parents, Tim and Nikki Roth, and his brother, Hunter Roth.

Who is Tim Roth?

Tim Roth is an English actor best known for his role as Cunningham in the 1995 historical drama film Rob Roy, in which he won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Tim has also collaborated with Quentin Tarantino on several movies, including 1992’s Reservoir Dogs, 1994’s Pulp Fiction, 1995’s Four Rooms, and 2015’s The Hateful Eight.

As mentioned above, Tim is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appeared as Emil Blonsky, a.k.a. Abomination, in the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk. He reprised the role in the 2021 flick Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and in the 2022 Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Tim Roth’s upcoming projects

Tim Roth will be next seen in the Australian miniseries Last King of the Cross. Debuting on Paramount+ sometime this year, the drama is inspired by the autobiography of nightclub owner John Ibrahim and his experiences in Sydney’s Kings Cross.

On the movie front, Tim currently has three projects on the line: the drama film Poison from director Désirée Nosbusch, the biographical movie Panzi from filmmaker Marie-Hélène Roux, and the crime thriller Come Together written and directed by Oliver Schmitz. All three movies don’t have a release date yet.
